My name is Meredith, a.k.a Mert… and I need to focus some energy.  I have a day-job as a Geologist – a great gig to have, particularly if you like playing around outside and exploring the world.  I’m also a wife and a mom – great gigs in their own right.  But in between the rocks and the husband and the children, I find myself daydreaming about my house.  No – daydreaming may not be the right word.  Obsessing?  Maybe.  Let’s just say, I love my house, but I’m definitely living for what my house will become.  We purchased a home, a home with character… its character and our vision to add on to it and make it our dream-home-with-character are literally filling in all of those precious spaces between the rocks, the husband, and the children.  This blog was created to be a force for good, an attempt to collect and share my thoughts, constructively, I hope.
