Livin’ life

You know… I’ve taken a hiatus from blogging… Turns out, I’ve had to live my life a bit – away from my computer.  It’s been a nice distraction Spent a whole weekend away (OK… maybe it was just 24 hours of the weekend…)  But, nonetheless… it was time to get away. Got me thinking really… about camping.  About getting back… (more…)

Psych Yourself Up

I love this…. go ahead, you can watch it again… I’ll wait. Dwight and I have a lot in common actually.  I used to listen to a lot of heavy metal… I can see how Mötley Crüe could psych you up.  I used to crank up the music to be ready to face my day. I think I need to… (more…)

Irony not lost

This fine welcome sign was a gift to me from my family.  I like it, it’s got great colors and textures and it adds a bit of decoration to the front entryway. Note the hole in the shingle directly above it?   Apparently our resident woodpecker found this sign to be welcoming too. Not the kind of character I’m going for… (more…)

Euchre – the game of life?

The euchre smackdown game. I had forgotten how much I like euchre until we pulled out the cards on our mini-vacation to Chicago.  I hadn’t played in years – but all it took was one practice round to feel ready to jump in again. We decided it would be girls against the guys.  I’m not sure what the actual level… (more…)

The Windy City weekend review…

And there was wine. Pretty much from start to finish. My weekend away was fabulous – Mom came out to hang out with the kids so that Eric and I could join friends for a weekend getaway to Chicago.  Despite the long list of places that you’re about to see – it was really relaxing… I suppose that when you’re… (more…)

Cleaning house…

Another myspace relict to see the light of day.  Words as relevant today as they were on January 3, 2008: Home is where your heart is, right?  It’s where your family is… it’s where you head after a long day of work… But home is also where you accumulate years and years worth of clothing, years and years worth of… (more…)

Blast from the past…

I have a dusty myspace page.  I’m cleaning house – taking what I’d like to keep, and then divesting myself of this dead real estate.  I started an eo-blog on that myspace page – so I’m resurrecting some of those old posts for all to see (at least – more than the 17 friends that I had on myspace).  The… (more…)

We’re Curve Limited…

It’s OK, you can admit it.  You don’t even have to hide it, at least not in my house.  Just don’t get too carried away.  Remember that you have to share As part of my experiment to not be so ‘distracted by life‘ – the computers have been turned off after school.  This has caused my family to look at… (more…)

Heat… toes… good…

This is an exercise in sensory perception – that being said, you’ll need to find a friend to read this to you… Ready? Close your eyes. Room – cold – wintry morning, ice sketched across the window panes, daylight peeking through the pine trees playing with the frosted panes.  You – warm – hunkered down under that down comforter, like… (more…)

Distracted by Life.

Yep.  I admitted yesterday – that I was distracted by….. life.  Which is not the goal really.  I should be fully engaged in life, present – in the moment.  Time for a course correction! In search of a balance I started writing this blog just about 1 month ago… it’s been a learning curve for sure.  Literally, one month and… (more…)
